My Crappy Computer problems
And yet again my crappy computer is giving me problems. The video card is the likely suspect as in the earlier case. The computer shuts down on its own when playing something graphic intensive. I believe it gets too hot and thus the system shuts down to preserve the card. Whatever the case may be, I have contacted Customer Service to get me a new card and hope they will grant me my wish. If they dont it is going to be a long debate and lots of headaches for me and my poor computer. Lets pray and hope.

Apparently the woman was fed up with her fiancee playing games and not looking for a job and planning for their wedding. Personally if you ask me, If I had a fiancee, games would be almost have neglible importance for me then. All in all very sad news and a reminder to us all who love games, Don't let them take over your lives and your minds. Play games as they were meant to be player, as a time passing endeavour.

Moving
Moving has always been a dreaded proposition for me over the years. I remember when my family moved all over the country due to my dad's work, I was always scared and kind of sad too. I never stuck for more than 3 years in one place and whatever friends I made had to be left behind and I had to make new ones to where I moved. Now, as time of my moving to California approaches, I find myself looking forward to moving. I am finally going to my dream school, one I have always wanted to go to. I will be going to the sunny state of California with all its thrills and frills. Still there is a nagging feeling at the back of my mind about taking care of so many things and getting there safely :D. Call me paranoid but I have never moved on my own before so maybe that is why. I still have to sell all my stuff here, which I will probably start tomorrow and then send everything packing into boxes from now. I will have to get the rates from U-Haul and some spare boxes. So much to do, so much to plan :D.
On that note all of that cannot happen unless I get my letter of admission from the University of California and that, my friends, is the biggest snag. I am still waiting for it :D. Maybe next week my hopes will turn up and I will receive it. These days I go down to my mailbox in earnest anticipation and open the mailbox to find it either filled with junk CDs like the ones from American Online or some other form of useless correspondence.

The Supermarket
Had an eventful trip to the supermarket. For some reason there were a lot of people around today at noon. I don't know the reason. Maybe cuz they were replenishing their supplies after the Labour Day weekend. :D. Some hilarious situations arised due to the commotion and the amount of people. The situation wasn't helped by the fact that the supermarket had changed its layout and nobody who was visiting after a while could find what they wanted. The Shampoo Aisle was gone to the farthest corner of the store, the milk displaced, the bread's place changed. :D. Me and my brother were grocery shopping in this mess and I am pushing the trolly. Suddenly he goes off looking for the aisle that has eggs. And I try to follow him with the trolly and I see this old guy come infront of me. He holds a pie in one hand, walks with a stopped gait and stops at every aisle looking at the signs. There is a whole line of people behind me too with their trollys. The old man moves a few steps to the next aisle, looks at the aisle and moves on, rinse and repeat. :D. I could hear exasperated sighs from behind me lol. It was funny but the poor guy was very old and I didn't mind going slow behind him.
Other than that I am still waiting for my freakin letter from University of Southern California. I hope it comes soon cuz my patience is at an all time low now. Lets see if it does.

I Got Tagged

All the rest of my friends have already been tagged :P. So without further ado,
5 years ago: I had just arrived from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan and was desperately trying to get into a University in Pakistan, applying all over the place, giving enterance tests and what not. Finally the race ended and I got into a Local startup university, from which I later transferred my credits to the US.
1 year ago: I had entered my final semester and was desperately looking forward to graduating and trying to imagine how it would feel with a professional degree in your hand. In the end the moment came, and passed. And it left an impression that I had to change myself into something more mature and made me feel I had to go a long way before finally considering me a full adult. I still sometimes have the moments where my childish head rears itself up.

5 Things I would do with $100 million dollars: First of all I would buy everything my parents wanted but could never afford and set aside a huge chunk for them (Total of about $1000,000). Then I would set up a foundation for the research and treatement of Vegners (the incurable disease my mother lived with all her life), so that noone else on earth has to suffer so much again ever (Total of about $5000,000). With what's left, I will buy the best Computer money can buy, with all the coolest and high tech accessories for it eg. A laser mouse, a nitrogen cooling system, two top of the line dual interleaved graphics card, neon lightening for my custom built case, 5 GB of memory, to name a few (About $100,000), Buy the Ferrari Testarossa ($300,000). From the rest I will put the rest aside for life and whatever I find necessary to spend it on. Although lol all of this is hypothetical and I presumely will never get $100 million dollars in life.. But hey one can dream.

Mail System Problems
I still have not received my offical letter of admission from the University of Southern California. I called them and I found out that a large batch of letters they sent 2 weeks ago did not reach their intended destinations. I was under the assumption that the US mail system was considered the best in the world but this is a long series of delays in me receiving my mail which makes me think otherwise about the mail system. Ah well, I hope it gets here soon and then I can offically rejoice :D. USC said they are sending out emails to everyone again in the batch even if they did not contact them about not receiving their mails. Hope mine makes it through as well.
Other than that I will be moving to California soon. I have to make a Huge list of stuff I am going to sell since I will be living in a dorm there instead of an apartment since housing is too expensive in California. A lot of the kitchen stuff has to go as well as my old PC. Anythign that might bog my moving :D. A house sale is in order.
I will be moving sometime in October I believe. That is still upto debate.

Reading this story shocked me at first and then I started to laugh. I am a gamer and I have been called fairly addicted to gaming but this is plain ridiculous. Kudos to the kids being found and now I hope they will have a better childhood. To all you gamers out there, don't forget the more material and important things in life :D. This isn't only with games though. This should be wake up calls to all kinds of addicts. Computer, TV and whatever the rest of the world is addicted to and ofcourse drugs.

The basic concept behind it is to take images and media with a camera and then feed it into a computer which analyses it and then gives a real-time result of the likliness that the person is telling the truth. It will use slight gestures such as postures, shoulder shurgs etc among others to come to the conclusion.

As one of my previous posts said, I've gotten into USC and am so glad. I still haven't received my letter of admission and I was told it was sent but somehow it got lost in the mail. I was informed today that there was something wrong in the system and many mails sent out did not get to their intended destinations. Well I can wait :D. I am in now and all that. Waiting for my I-20 now. I will have to sell a lot of my stuff, my PC, My TV and all my electrical appliances since, unlike here, I will be living in dorm over at USC :D. Apartments are just too expensive for me as a student to live in, in California. Other than that nothing much is happening.
Sarah you seem to have gone to france and gone lost. I know I haven't updated my blog so I guess many of you guys stopped coming or somthing but hey I am still here so don't deserte me my blog buddies :D. I hope you all are having a blasted good time.
